SQM Compliance Course
For the next tender round (expected 2013), all firms will be required to have an externally audited quality mark. Firms will have to pay for the auditing themselves. This page on the LSC website will tell you more about the process.
A failure to obtain an externally audited QM could mean that the firm will be prevented from obtaining a future legal aid contract. Compliance with quality systems is also necessary to ensure compliance with existing contractual and regulatory rules, so firms neglect this area at their peril.
However, in the real world some firms have taken their eye off the ball when it comes to SQM procedures, so this course will assist firms in being able to comply.
2013 seems a long way off but some 2500 firms need to be audited, and the sooner you do it the better (there are also discounts for early audits. Pricing details here.).
The course will cover:
The 2010 SQM standard and what it means in practice. The course is supported by excellent notes and electronic precedent documents that will speed up the compliance process. You need to ensure prior to audit that you are in the best position to pass that audit, otherwise you simply waste a vast amount of time and money. PLEASE NOTE: If you hold Lexcel accreditation then this course is not suitable for you.
